Pisang Peak climbing stands at 6,091 m / 19,984 ft high, one of the magnificent trekking peaks where the climbing grade rated as PD+ a straightforward climb with some technical challenge, with ice and snow on route to its summit, the rating or grade means Peu Difficile as per Swiss / French Alpine System used worldwide on alpine climb.

With careful planning View Nepal Treks and Expedition has set itinerary flexible with some rest / spare days to make this climb a great success along with trekking, practice on the route with proper acclimatization, safety measures and full support of our expert guides. Beginning this wonderful adventure to Pisang Peak Climbing and Manang area with an interesting drive past mid hills of Lamjung and high Manang valley area and then trekking past lovely villages of Dharapani-Chame and Pisang to reach the base camp of Pisang Peak.

After acclimatization and rest day with preparation for Pisang Peak climbing, our climb leads away from the main Annapurna circuit route to the high and dry country in complete isolation in the harmony of nature and mountains. Starting the tough climb led by our expert guide to the summit of Pisang Peak, after a successful bid reaching the top where a mind-blowing panorama of mountains surrounds you. Feeling great and in high spirit return journey back on main popular Annapurna Circuit route, visiting Manang villages and interesting Braga monastery.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour and trek preparation.

Day 03: Drive to Jagat 1,290 m via Besishar 800 m and trek to Dharapani 1,920 m - 08 hrs.

Day 04: Trek to Chame 2,670 m - 05 hours.

Day 05: Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m - 05 hrs.

Day 06: Rest day at Pisang for local hikes and acclimatization.

Day 07: Trek to Pisang Peak Base Camp 4,380m - 04 hrs.

Day 08: Trek and climb to High Camp 5,400 m - 03 hrs.

Day 09: Climb Pisang Peak and return to base camp time permitting to Pisang village.

Day 10: Reserve day in case of bad weather condition.

Day 11: Trek to Manang 3,350m - 04 hrs.

Day 12: Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m - 04 hours.

Day 13: Trek to Thorong High Camp 4,600 m - 04 hrs.

Day 14: Cross Thorong-La 5,416 m and to Muktinath 3,800 m - 06 hrs.

Day 15: Trek to Jomsom 2,713m - 04 hrs.

Day 16 : Fly to Pokhara and transfer to hotel.

Day 17: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.

Day 18: International departure homeward bound.

On arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, View Nepal Treks staff and guide will receive you for the transfer to your hotels around interesting Kathmandu city. After rest in your rooms with refreshment, our guide / leader provides briefing of Pisang Peak Climb and trek, lodges on route with do and don’ts includes welcome dinner.

Today a free day preparation for the trek and climb of Pisang Peak, this day allows necessary paper works for Pisang Peak climb. For interested people can book for a short sightseeing tour around Kathmandu at places of interest, as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites and monuments.

Morning a long and interesting overland drive towards Nepal Mid West at Besishar town, from here on a dirt road to Khudi, Bhulbhule and Ngadi, as the drive follows Marshyangdi River upstream through rice terraces and villages then ending the long day at Dharapani village for an overnight stop. A nice large village located on the junction of Manaslu and Annapurna circuit trail.

Morning walk leads along winding path into rhododendron, pine forest through Bagachap and Danque village, then to Timang village. From here onwards into Buddhist culture area with view of Mt. Manaslu 8,163m / 26,781ft. From Timang village few hours trek leads to Koto and then to Chame town for overnight stop, a large and major town and headquarter of Manang area.

The Adventure continues into a cooler area from here onwards closer to the mountainous region, trekking through nice alpine forests of rhododendron and pine trees, following Marshyangdi River upstream with short ups and down hills to Bhratang village. From Bhratang village walk follows uphill through alpine woodland overlooking Chulu’s and Pisang peak, after a lunch break at Dukuri Pokhari walk descends to lower Pisang village for an overnight stop.

Rest day in Pisang village at this high altitude, necessary for acclimatization before heading high to Pisang Peak climb, on this day with free morning take a short hike around, as walking higher and sleeping at low elevation helps to acclimatize well. This rest day also helps to plan the climb where our guide offers necessary information of the area, culture, religion and climbing skill required for the climb.

After a nice rest in Pisang village, our route leads towards north of upper Pisang village, as the tree lines drops for short few bushes around grazing land, called Kharka. Climb a high ridge above Pisang peak, our guide will set base camp with camping facilities, around 4,380 meters high, first night in tents meals prepared by our expert cook and kitchen staff.

A short day but tough due to high altitude, morning walk follows a faint trail where few climbers and Yak herders hardly use this path to high camp, as the walk leads over rocks, ice and glacier to reach bottom of Pisang Peak where high camp is set for the climb. Afternoon our guide will scout the area for safe accessible route to the summit fixing ropes and making ice ledges where necessary, High Camp situated on long ridge of Pisang Peak, under some conditions this area may be under snow, afternoon free to sort the gear with preparation for the early morning climb.

Our highlight and goal of this adventure, starting at dawn climb over moraine and rubble of ice falls, following our lead guide reaching high above on a well defined ridge towards last snow slope, leading quite steeply without any difficulty but with some technical sections and then climb all the way to Pisang summit with great help and support of our expert guide. On reaching the summit take a rest and admire the beautiful panorama of whole Annapurna Mountains and towards north and west Chulu range with Damodar peaks as well beyond Chulu peaks, view of Manaslu towards east horizon. After being in the highest spot of this adventure descent by same route to base camp, as time permits and possible with physical strength after the climb descend all the way to Pisang village.

On reaching Pisang village, descend to Hongde village with a small air-strip. Walk from here is on gradual wide trail most of the way to Manang via Braga village with an interesting monastery. Monastery of Braga largest in whole Manang district, it has an outstanding display of statues, thangkas with religious manuscripts. From here it is only an hour walk to Manang for the overnight stop in the comfort of the nice cozy lodge.

After a pleasant overnight at Manang, morning walk leads on uphill path to Yak Kharka, an interesting high altitude trekking with super views of snowcapped mountains, then crossing a small stream river to reach Yak Kharka, a small settlement with views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.

Morning heading high area, to the base of Thorang-la after a climb along the river bank, walk leads at Thorung Phedi, from here an hour of steep climb brings at Thorang High Camp for an overnight stop.

One of the hard days of this adventure, with early breakfast trek follows a long climb up to Thorang-la with steep haul on the winding path to Thorung La Pass at 5,416 m / 17,700 ft. The highest point on trekking after the climb of Pisang Peak, the pass offers awesome sceneries of snowcapped peaks after feeling high reaching the main highlight, and then a long descend leads to Muktinath at 3,800 m. On reaching Muktinath for overnight stop, a holy place for both Hindus and Buddhists the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

Today our last walk of this fabulous adventure, enjoy downhill walk to Jomsom town, perched on a shelf above Kaligandaki River. On reaching at Jomsom, the administrative and a headquarter town of Mustang area. Jomsom with many excellent lodge and hotels for overnight accommodation, this town situated on the famous route of Annapurna circuit, Upper Mustang and to holy Muktinath route, afternoon explore Jomsom town.
