Everest Three Pass Trek, an adventure of lifetime experience crossing high ridges and passes at above 5,000 m offers incredible views of the world’s highest peaks. On this beautiful scenic walks where the highest spot of the adventure is crossing over Kongma-La Pass at above 5,535 m high, sandwiched between Nuptse, Mehra and Pokalde peaks offering grand adventure and experience. Everest Three Pass Trek leads you away from mainstream busy trekking path for some days, where you will be in complete isolation in the harmony of high mountains and glaciers within the pristine wilderness.

Everest Three Pass Trek begins after a short panoramic flight from Kathmandu to land at a unique airstrip at Lukla airport, the gateway Sherpa town for various adventures around high Khumbu within Everest region. As walk precedes heading into lovely Sherpa farm villages adorned with interesting prayer walls and monasteries, with time to explore the local culture of age-old Buddhist religion and traditional life. Views of mountains continue as walk leads to famous colorful Namche Bazaar here with acclimatization days with short excursion.

From Namche heading past beautiful Thyangboche Monastery surrounded with enchanting alpine woodland facing views of Everest, magnificent Amadablam and series of peaks. Slowly walk heads towards barren and arid country on leaving the tree lines where our first adventure leads to cross high Kongma-la to reach Lobuche and then to Everest base camp. Enjoying the tough walks over Kongma-la and then visit Everest base within massive Khumbu ice falls and glaciers, and then on top Kalapathar for a better perspective of surrounding mountains with Everest at close distance.

Our next adventure leads you over Tsho / Cho-la pass to reach beautiful Gokyo valley and its fascinating lakes in the shade of world 6th highest Mt. Cho-Oyu. At Gokyo with time to marvel at grand views, climb to Gokyo Ri for the breathtaking panorama of mountains with Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu, and Makalu includes a series of lesser peaks.

From Gokyo where climb leads over last and final pass traversing Renjo-la pass to complete our adventure, after crossing all three high passes of Khumbu and Everest region and then heading back to Lukla. Everest Three Passes after Renjo-la leads downhill to the quaint village at Thame and then back into green woodland, as walk continues past Namche Bazaar to reach Lukla for last overnight in Khumbu and Everest area. Morning from Lukla taking a super short flight to Kathmandu to conclude our outmost adventure with delightful moments and fond memories on Everest Three Passes Trekking.

Day 02: Fly to Lukla 2,830 m & trek to Phakding 2,640 m - 04 hrs.

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 05 hrs.

Day 04: Rest day at Namche Bazaar for acclimatization and excursion.

Day 05: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 05hrs.

Day 06: Trek to Dingboche 4,260 m - 05hrs.

Day 07: Rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and excursion.

Day 08: Trek to Kongma-la 5,535m and to Lobuche 4,928m - 08 hrs.

Day 09: To Everest Base Camp 5,364 m via Gorakshep 5,170 m and back at Gorakshep.

Day 10: Hike to Kalapatthar 5,545 m/18 and walk to Dzongla 4,830m - 06 hours.

Day 11: Cross Tsho / Cho-la Pass 5,367m, descend to Thanknak 4,750m - 07 hours.

Day 12: Trek to Gokyo 4,750 m/15, 580ft, climb to Gokyo Ri 5357m.

Day 13 : At Gokyo rest to visit fifth lake - 05 hrs round trip.

Day 14: Cross Renjo-la 5360 m descend to Lungdhen 4,380 m- 07 hrs.

Day 15: Trek to Thame 3,880 m - 05 hrs.

Day 16: Trek to Monjo 2,860m via Namche Bazaar - 06 hrs.

Day 17: Trek to Lukla - 04 hrs.

Day 18: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels.

Day 19: In Kathmandu free day with sightseeing tour.

Day 20: International departure homeward bound.

Morning, transfer to Kathmandu domestic airport for scenic short to a flight of 30 minutes, overlooking views of mountain range with Mt. Everest. On reaching Lukla, here with time for short rest and then start the first day walk to Phakding village for the overnight stop. As route leads past many interesting farm villages, a nice pleasant trek with few short ups and gradual trails to reach at Phakding by Dudh Kosi River.

After a nice morning, walk continues crossing bridges over Dudh Kosi River passing several interesting villages of Toc-Toc, Bhenkar and Monjo arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate, from here on the river bed for few hours and after the last bridge a steep uphill to Namche Bazaar, at Namche with facilities of good restaurant, pubs, cyber café, post office, and banks.

From Namche on a pleasant trail with downhill to Imjatse River at Phunge-Tenga for lunch, afternoon walk uphill into rhododendron, pines, firs tree forest with views of snowcapped peaks. On reaching Thyangboche visit its monastery with the magnificent panorama of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Kangtenga, Thamserku, Kwande and majestic Amadablam.

Morning walks on the downhill for an hour to Imjatse River, after crossing a bridge heading into the exposed country where tree lines drop for few short junipers and dwarf rhododendron bushes. As walk progress reaching Pangboche village above 3,900 meters, the last permanent village, others places on the route are a temporary settlement with lodges to cater the need of trekkers. From Pangboche a slow climb to Somara as walk carries on with an uphill to reach at Dingboche village for the overnight stop, located in Imjatse valley within giant mountains.

Another rest day for acclimatization, options for short hike to Nakarjung hills for best views of Mt. Makalu and other adjoining peaks. And also visit Chhukung village and follow the valley back to Dingboche for better acclimatization.

After 2 overnight in Dingboche, early morning start with a climb on the icy path, walking on rocky trail beneath Kongma-la and its peak Kongma or Mehra, after a good rest, crossover Kongma-la pass at 5,535 m / 18,159 ft hidden between great Nuptse wall, Mehara and Pokalde peaks. After a tough climb towards Khumbu glacier and moraine one has to be careful here on the misleading after descending the walk leads on the path to a short steep climb up to the terminal debris of Khumbu Glacier to reach Lobuche for an overnight stop in the comfort of a cozy lodge after great full day walk.

Today reach another highlight of the adventure to Everest Base Camp, walk leads to short steep climb in between glacier and moraine to reach at Gorakshep, located beneath Mt. Pumori and Kalapathar.
The walk continues to Everest Base Camp rewards you with exciting views of notorious Khumbu Ice Fall and glaciers, from here back to Gorakshep for the overnight halt.

Our return journey is more pleasant on losing heights every hour on downhill walks. Few ups to Thyangboche after the bridge and then back into green vegetation covered with tall trees all the way to Thyangboche Monastery. After a refreshing stop at Thyangboche, walk leads to a descend reaching at Imjatse River. From here a steep climb for an hour to Sanasa, and then on gradual walks to reach at Namche Bazaar for the overnight stop.

Second Big Day of the adventure, cross high Cho-la pass ( Tsho-la) leading to a steep up and then crossing the glacier on the eastern side. The top located at 5,367 m, can be quite challenging sometimes to cross in snow conditions, offers views of high peaks with Cholatse Glacier and then descend carefully to Thanknak for an overnight stop after crossing over the second pass of the adventure.

After a great adventure over Cho-la pass, morning an easy walk following main Gokyo trail at the foot of the Ngozumba glacier. Slowly walk leads at Gokyo Lake also called Dudh Pokhari the bank of the shore is summer settlement of Gokyo at 4,790 meters.

Morning an option for a hike to Gokyo Ri at 5,357m another highlight of this adventure, Gokyo Ri offers breathtaking scenery panorama of world’s highest peak from Mt. Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Cholatse, Taweche and to the east Mt. Makalu. After a grand vista descends to Gokyo and marvels the surrounding awesome views. Another option excursion to Gokyo 5th Lake five to six hours of round trips, where you need to take pack lunch, walk leads to the base of Cho-Oyu world’s 6th highest mountain that straddles the border with Nepal / Tibet, offers views of Mt. Everest, Changtse and towering ice wall of Cho-Oyu.

Our last third high pass to cross, starting before dawn leaving Gokyo towards Renjo-la, as walk follows at the end of Gokyo Lake, where route leads on top of the pass offering superb view of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse and Taboche, and then cross Renjo La pass over 5,465 m / 17,929 ft, one of the most difficult section of the adventure.
On reaching at the top rewards you a breathtaking panorama of Mt. Cho-Oyu and other high surrounding peaks, after enjoyable and exciting views and climb, walk descend towards a frozen ponds beneath Renjo La pass, and then a long descend reaching a small settlement at Lungdeng for overnight stop, which is on route to high Nangpa-la pass into Tibet.

Completing all three passes today an easy walk on the downhill to Marlung village just above Bhote Kosi River, from Marlung our route leads past Thyangmoche and Hungmo, and then walk into scattered Sheppard’s huts and Yak grazing pasture. As afternoon walk leads to Thame village for overnight stop, a quiet sleepy village located on the trail towards high Tashi Labtsa pass close to Gaurishankar and Rolwaling area, and as well on route to Tibet border.
At Thame visit one of the oldest monasteries of Khumbu believed to be of more than 500 years old enriched with ancient idols and artifacts.

After Thame village a short down and then ups with a gradual walk to Thamo a village with hydropower that supplies electricity to Namche and other Khumbu villages, as walk leads back into the green woodland of tall pines and rhododendron tree lines. A pleasant walk to Namche Bazaar for short rest and then downhill to Monjo near Sagarmatha National Park entrance for an overnight stop.
