A fast and lighting trek to world famous and popular Annapurna base camp and the sanctuary surrounded with an amphitheater of snow-capped peaks that surround you at base camp.

View Nepal Treks “Annapurna Base Camp & Volunteer services” starts with an overland drive to scenic Pokhara, a popular touristic destination in a backdrop of massif Annapurna Himalaya. This short trek leads into interesting Gurung tribe villages of Ghandruk and Chomrong and into a lovely alpine forest of rhododendron and pines trees.

Our walk follows upstream of Modi River right to its glacier source at Sanctuary and Annapurna base camp placed beneath world 10th highest Mt. Annapurna surrounded by beautiful peaks. After a great time at Annapurna base camp, this scenic walk concludes at Pokhara, after trekking through Jhinu-Danda (with hot spring) and Landruk villages.

In Pokhara where our main project and theme of the trips continue with volunteer services near Hyamja Tibetan village in Pokhara, helping the highland children of Upper Mustang where is a temporary shelter for Mustang children (Now HANDS IN NEPAL has built a school) with school lesson, interact with children, teaching English, Mathematics and other activities.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour and trek preparation.

Day 03: Drive / Fly to Pokhara 820m (220 k.m - 06 hrs rides (30 mins by air).

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul and beyond to Siwai and trek to Jhinu village 1,780 m - 06 hrs.

Day 05: Trek to Chomrong 2,170 m - 04 hrs.

Day 06: Trek to Dovan 2,630 m - 06 hrs.

Day 07: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,700 m - 06 hrs.

Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) 4,130 m - 03 hrs.

Day 09: Trek from ABC to Bamboo 2,345 m - 06 hrs.

Day 10: Trek to Jhinu village 1,780 m with Hot Spring - 06 hrs.

Day 11: Trek to Pothana 1, 900 m - 05 hrs.

Day 12: Trek and drive to Astam an Eco-Village model - 05 hrs.

Day 13 and 14: Volunteer in school with studies and other social works.

Day 15: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 16: International departure homeward bound.

On arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, received by View Nepal Treks staff and guide and then transfer to your hotels.
After checking into rooms and getting refreshed joining at meeting place for Annapurna Base Camp treks briefing with hotels, lodge on route with do and don’ts includes welcome dinner.

Today in Kathmandu preparation for the great trek, with last day to buy and hire gears required for the treks, for interested people can join in our half day tour around Kathmandu at places of great interest within world heritage sites. Afternoon free at leisure preparation for Annapurna Base Camp trekking where exciting drive takes you to Nepal Mid-West Himalaya area.

The morning starts with a drive on tourist coach or smaller vehicle as group size for an overland journey that takes you away from Kathmandu valley, heading into low warmer areas with views of snowcapped mountains. As drive continues on busy main highway past farm villages and town then heading Nepal Mid-West to reach at scenic Pokhara city. At Pokhara transfer to nice hotels by the serene lake Phewa with views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain range with towering peaks of Machhapuchare ‘Fish Tail’.

After a wonderful overnight stop at Pokhara with grand views of Annapurna Himal and Machhapuchare peaks 'Fish Tail', completing breakfast then taking a drive beyond Pokhara valley to start our first days trek. Drive leads along with grand views of Annapurna past farm villages and towns and then by bank of Modi River to reach at Bhirethati a charming village around Annapurna region. From here a short drive to a small farm village at Siwai, where first day walks begins with slow uphill to New Bridge following Modi River and then climb on nice stone paved steps to reach a high ridge, where Jhinu village located with time here visit its natural hot-spring.

Today morning walk leads to short day of few hours with uphill to reach a high ridge above Jhinu and Chomrong village, and then downhill brings you at Chomrong village for overnight stop, Chomrong the last permanent Gurung village and gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp trekking.

From Chomrong morning leads to a short downhill over terraced farm fields to reach at Chomrong river, after crossing over a bridge with uphill to Sinuwa-Danda, a small place with few lodges offers grand views of surrounding rolling green hills, from here walk continues into dense forest till Bamboo is reached, a place with many good lodge located by the Modi River in the middle of bamboo, rhododendron and oaks forest. From here an hour walk on the gradual up trail to Dovan for overnight stop, situated in the middle of forest Modi River gorge.

After a pleasant overnight stop in Dovan, where morning walks leads higher up as vegetation and tree lines drops for high altitude alpine bushes and shrubs, our route leads to follow raging Modi river upstream right up to its source at base camp. Walk gets better on some sections of the route with last steep climb to reach at Machhapuchare Base Camp for overnight stop. A nice quiet place with few good lodges located beneath towering North Face of Mt. Machhapuchare. Here onward starts of the Annapurna Sanctuary, afternoon relax or short excursion around this tranquil wilderness with views of Annapurna South-Huinchuli, Singu Chuli / Fluted peak as well Annapurna I with Vara Shikar (Annapurna Fang) towards North West.

With pleasant and exciting morning facing views of Annapurna range of peaks, morning leads to a short walk up to reach our main destination at Annapurna base camp, starting our trek heading higher up on grassy hill slopes to reach a small plateau and a level ground. As walk advance towards Annapurna Base Camp, with breathtaking views of Annapurna peaks that surround you within the sanctuary with giant wall of Mt. Annapurna I. After a good scenic walk reaching at Annapurna Base Camp a magnificent spot with few large lodges, offers incredible views of giant snowcapped peaks that encircles this scenic spot at base camp, afternoon at leisure to enjoy mountain views. Annapurna area was first explored by the British Adventure Col. James O.M. 'Jimmy' Roberts in the year 1956 and exposed to the world as the 'Sanctuary of Gods'. The Sanctuary has been christened as "Annapurna Sanctuary" ever since.

After a great and enjoyable time at Annapurna Base Camp and within beautiful sanctuary, morning leads on long downhill walk to lower areas, as our route descend to Deurali past Machhapuchare Base Camp, then with few short ups and down following a gradual winding trail back into green forested area to Bamboo for the overnight stay. A nice and pleasant spot a temporary settlement with lodges to cater the needs of the trekkers located by the Modi River in a gorge within green bamboo and rhododendron forest.

From Bamboo a short steep climb up to Khuldi Ghar, then on winding downhill path into dense forest to Sinuwa-Danda, and then our walk descends to Chomrong khola. After crossing the bridge an uphill walk for less than an hour to reach at Chomrong village for short rest or lunch stop, after Chomrong a short up for half hour reaching at the top of Chomrong ridge, from here our route descends to Jhinu-Danda for overnight stay, this place offers refreshing hot springs just 20 minutes’ walk downhill near Modi river.

After a pleasant stop continue downhill walk to another New Bridge (Nayapul) by the Modi River, after the bridge a gradual walk and short climb to reach at Landruk village, and then through terraced farm fields and villages reaching cool forested area, a short climb to Deurali ridge at 2,150 m. After Deurali a nice pleasant walk leads to Pothana with grand views of Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Manaslu including views of Fish Tail peak.

Morning starts with super views of mountains and heading up at Thulo Kharka also called Australian Camp a beautiful place with large meadows overlooking magnificent views of the Himalayan range of mountains, from here trek concludes with an hour downhill to Kande village on the road connecting Baglung-Pokhara highway, from here an hour drive back to Pokhara after a wonderful time up in the high mountains. On reaching Pokhara a short drive to our project sites in a school at Astam within local bazaar area of Pokhara, where you can observe local daily activities of interest.

This winter school for the children of Upper Mustang located in a serene environment with views of Annapurna Mountains, a short season and temporary school within Pokhara valley, the school of educational purpose for highland children of Upper Mustang. Due to its cold climate of freezing temperature higher North West Upper Mustang which lies close to Tibet border, in winter many villagers migrates to lower warm areas of Nepal and as far to India also. During few months of winter season a school has been established for these highland children’s, where you can take part in it volunteering with many various activities.
From school lesson on various subjects including some game activities or music program of songs and poetry to dancing, for 3 days you will be engaged with the children where you can offer knowledge helping the children to wisdom of learning skills with educational games and activities.
