Kanchenjunga Region


Kanchenjunga trek is one of the awe-inspiring trekking spot in Nepal which lies just at the base of the enormous peak Kanchenjunga (8586m), popular as the third highest peak in the world. This immense Himalayas situate on the border of Nepal- Sikkim with rivers flowing from its surfaces beautifully.  Nepal opened the Kanchenjunga region to trekkers in 1988, though people have trekked in the area in connection with mountaineering expeditions since the turn of the century.

While going for Kanchenjunga Trek we will come across the community of Brahmins, Rai, Chhetris, Limbu etc. and which will also let you explore their culture. Moreover, you will also get the chance to see wild lives like musk deer, blue sheep, Himalayan bear, etc. In addition, you will be welcomed by the views of Everest, Chamlang, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga.  This region is occupied with alpine grazing lands, dense and sub-tropical woods and low stream gorge. It is situated at the north-east part of Nepal and is surrounded by India and China. This region allows you to watch a different assortment of culture and changing the landscape as the way pass through terraced pastures, forests of rhododendron, birch and so on. To go for a trekking to the north base camp at Pangpema (5140m), we will take flight from Kathmandu to Biratnagar after that we will drive to Biratnagar and eventually to Basantapur and walk to Kanchenjunga North Base Camp and go back to Taplejung through the same route and fly back to Kathmandu from Taplejung which takes minimum 23-days. And the same trek can be completed in 18-days as well. In order to make trek to the south base camp at Oktang (4800m) and Yalung glacier at same altitude taking two-way flight from Kathmandu to Taplejung taking minimum 16 days.
